Professional Diploma in Performing Arts

Performing Arts is a unique form of communication using the projection of voice, body, face and emotions, focusing on acting and producing performances for an audience or for television programmes.

This is a skill-based programme where students will be dedicated to learning the arts of performance for the purpose of entertainment; which include vocal and acting techniques, production methods as well as production marketing. Practices also consist of voice projection training, improvising scripts, set and costume creation and making full usage of the stage during live performances.

First semester students will be creating the concept and script for a theatre performance as well as learning the basics of acting and vocal methods. In Semester 2, the music, sound effects and improvised version of the play will be finalized. Semester 3 will see students creating the costume and focusing on how the set and lighting will be put into place. Final semester students will be fully-focused on promoting the production, practicing stage and production managing techniques as well as presenting the final, polished performance to a live audience.

The Professional Diploma in Performing Arts lays the foundation for young people to be successful players in the performing arts industry, mastering the initial skills to be good performers, whether on stage or on camera, live or recorded.
